My name is Alissa, a recent graduate with a double-major in Journalism: Advertising and Japanese. Yes, indeed.
This blog was created for my Creative Strategist class and is dedicated to my musings on the ever-evolving and exciting world of advertising. I’m still trying to maneuver my way through it, but I hope to come out of this class with a fabulous understanding of the industry. Sometimes I feel like I have too many interests, but I hear it’s good to be well-versed in many things when going into advertising. I don’t quite know my place yet, but I’m creative and love attention to detail. I get such a thrill out of working on a project that produces a result that I can go back and admire again and again! That’s one of the many reasons I enjoy and tend to keep anything visually interesting I find. I have a strong interest in different cultures and hope my future career will allow me to travel as well!
As far as technical skills, I’m experienced with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Final Cut Pro, and a bit of Illustrator. I’ve worked as a photographer and videographer for the student publication Ethos as well.
I’m a fangirl of sorts and a total media junkie. I consume media, be it photos or music or news stories, about things I like as if it were as important as breathing! I’m very loyal to brands and products, and when I fall for something, I fall so hard. I wouldn’t have it any other way! I often tell people that I have 2 majors because I’m simply interested in far too many things.
I sing, play the cello, play video games, and take pictures.
I love hot tea, Korean boy bands and guinea pigs. Let’s do this!
